Town Core Traffic Study (car rally)

We are calling this the Tsawwassen Town Core Traffic Study but it’s really a car rally. This is being organized by local resident Briar Johnston and Dream South Delta is encouraging people to participate.

GOAL:

• To drive your car from your home, leaving at 9:00 a.m. and make your way through the intersection at 12th and 56th street and then head home. Let’s show the city what 1000+ cars in our town core looks like in real time.

NOTES: 

• There will be no official start or end to this car rally. There is no gathering point or official coordinator.
• When you sign up, take your number from the sign-up sheet and put it on your car (computer paper, poster board, etc) so participating cars are visible. And it will visually represent 1000 cars.
• Everyone is encouraged to remain courteous, peaceful and to follow all traffic regulations and watch for pedestrian safety.
• It may take a LONG time to cross this intersection with this number of cars. Please be prepared to be there a while in stopped traffic. Remain kind and courteous of your fellow supporters.
• Media and police will be notified that this is happening. Please represent the citizens of our community in the best possible, most respectful, manner.
